Asphalt Repair and Maintenance

Expert Asphalt Patching Services

Asphalt patching is a repair process used to fix damaged areas of pavement such as potholes, cracks, and surface deterioration. The process typically involves removing loose or broken material, cleaning the area, and then filling it with new asphalt—either hot mix or cold mix depending on conditions. The new material is compacted to create a stable, level surface that blends with the surrounding pavement. Asphalt patching helps extend the life of a roadway or driveway by preventing further damage, improving safety, and restoring a smoother driving surface.

Asphalt Overlay

An asphalt overlay is a pavement rehabilitation method that involves placing a new layer of hot mix asphalt over an existing roadway or driveway to restore its surface and extend its lifespan. Before the overlay is applied, the existing pavement is typically cleaned, repaired, and sometimes milled to remove irregularities and ensure proper bonding. The new asphalt layer provides a smooth, durable riding surface, improves appearance, and helps seal minor cracks and imperfections. Asphalt overlays are more cost-effective than full reconstruction and are commonly used when the underlying structure is still sound but the surface has worn or deteriorated.

Sealcoat and Crack fill Maintenance

Asphalt crack filling and sealcoating are preventative maintenance processes used to protect and extend the life of pavement. Crack filling involves cleaning out and sealing visible cracks with a flexible rubberized material to prevent water from seeping into the base, which can cause further damage. Sealcoating is then applied as a protective layer over the entire surface, shielding the asphalt from UV rays, moisture, oil, and chemicals while restoring its dark, uniform appearance. Together, these treatments help slow deterioration, reduce the need for costly repairs, and keep pavement looking smooth and well-maintained.
